MEET DR BRIDGES

Dr. Robert Bridges grew up right here in Warner Robins. He went to Elberta Elementary, Northside Jr. High, and Northside High School. He excelled in the Honor’s program in each school, along with being involved with many extra curricular activities. He worked at Kmart on Watson Blvd. while in high school. After graduating high school in 1987, Dr Bridges moved to Athens where he attended the University of Georgia. After graduating Cum Laude in 1991, he then moved to Augusta to attend the Medical College of Georgia School of Dentistry. During the four years of dental school Dr Bridges worked for Domino’s in Centerville on weekends and married his high school sweetheart, Michele. In his second and third years of dental school, Dr Bridges realized that he had more of an interest in periodontal treatment over all other aspects of the dental field. He decided to apply for a residency program that would allow him to specialize in periodontics. Of the many applicants, he was one of two selected for the internship. After graduating dental school in 1995, he began his studies in the areas of periodontal disease and dental implants. During the 3 year residency, he had his first child, Rachel, and his wife became pregnant with their second child shortly before he finished the program. In 1998 he completed his periodontal residency, and there was no doubt in his mind where he wanted to set up his practice. When he first moved back to Warner Robins, he saw how much the city had changed and grown since high school. The city was slowly moving towards the interstate so he decided to move with it. Where the office is now located, Dr. Bridges remembers it as being a peach orchard. After setting up the office, he opened his doors on September 2, 1998. Shortly afterwards, his wife gave birth to their second child, Carter. Dr Bridges loves being back in his hometown and enjoys watching the city grow as fast as it is. He is an active member of the Georgia Dental Association, the American Dental Association, the Central District Dental Society, the American Academy of Periodontology, and the Southern Academy of Periodontology.
Since he was a little boy, Dr Bridges always wanted to learn to fly an airplane. So, over a course of 6 months in 2008 he took lessons, studied and earned his private pilot’s license.

He later pursued his instrument rating and then multi engine rating. In his spare time, he and his wife travel to visit their daughter in Atlanta or their son in Florida. Spending time with their kids has always been top priority.
